Tired of your snow accounts being over serviced? By Transblue

As a leader in the snow and ice industry for over 20 years one thing I have heard from practically every new client is “how do we control over servicing?”

In my mind the answer is simple: have a concise, direct, developed RFP. This doesn’t only have to be for snow, but can be for landscaping, HVAC, lot sweeping, etc. It can be for whatever core functions your business must procure on a continual basis.

This best practice will be an invaluable resource to you and your facility department. It will eliminate over-servicing with several key elements.

• Pricing – Seasonal and per event pricing methods control the cost per storm reducing the number of invoices billed to your brand.
• Reporting – Geo tracked servicing gives you a real time view of when, where, and what time services were performed.
• Weather reports – deicing services are only approved and paid when freezing weather includes a service trigger and moisture. If there is no moisture, then there is no need for service even with freezing temperatures. Weather reports should be included with every deicing invoice to prove the amount of moisture at each location being serviced.

These are just a few of the highlighted points in the RFP Best Practice. Please, review other articles for the Best Practices and I can promise you, it will be a useful tool for you, your facility department, and you stake holders.
